Pleonasme en tautologie

Een tautologie bestaat uit twee of meer woorden die hetzelfde betekenen, bijvoorbeeld altijd en eeuwig. Een voorbeeld van een pleonasme is een houten boomstam. Houten benoemt iets wat ook al in het woord boomstam besloten ligt.
